Ghana Police Service Dismisses Claims of Secret Recruitment at Kumasi Training School

The Ghana Police Service has refuted allegations of a covert recruitment exercise at the Kumasi Police Training School in the Ashanti Region, as depicted in a viral video.

The police clarified that on September 2, 2024, a significant special operation in Kumasi led to the arrest of a staggering 487 suspects linked to the QNET Ponzi scheme.

Due to the high volume of suspects, they were temporarily held at the training school for thorough screening as part of the ongoing investigation, demonstrating the police’s commitment to justice.

During this screening process, members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) arrived at the training school, asserting that they had information about a secret recruitment taking place.

Upon discovering that these claims were unfounded and no such recruitment was occurring, the NDC members dispersed.

In a statement released on September 4, the Police Service urged the public to dismiss the false claims of secret recruitment and to regard the allegations with scepticism, empowering the public to be vigilant.
