He is said to have suffered cardiac arrest which led to his early demise.
Ernest Kumi is known for defying a court order to be sworn in as Member of Parliament.
His victory in the 2024 election has been challenged by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
His death means the Electoral Commission will have to organize a by-election in the coming days in the Akwatia Constituency in order for the people to have a representation in parliament.
