‘Asie ho’ will win us power– Ofosu Asamoah on Kwabena Agyepong chances

The spirit of “Asieho” has taken center stage in the Kwabena Agyepong campaign, as team member Ofosu Asamoah drew inspiration from the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) past victories to describe their candidate’s position on the ballot.

Speaking after the balloting exercise at the party’s headquarters in Accra, Asamoah highlighted the symbolic weight of the number five slot, linking it to the NPP’s historic triumph under former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

“When it comes to numbers, it’s just a means of identifying where your candidate is,” he said.

“All numbers have always had their own slogan. So, being number five (on the ballot paper), we are going to be at the bottom of the ballot. And Asieho has always been that of the NPP.”

He went on to emphasize that the chant “Asieho” carries the energy of renewal and success, recalling how it echoed through the party’s 2000 campaign trail.

“Coming to power in 2001 under President Kufuor, it was Asieho that brought us to power,” he noted passionately.

“So, when you are now Asieho, you are selling quadruple power. Asieho, Asieho.”
