Lawyers for Ken Ofori-Atta in Ghana have disclose that their client has been detained by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
From the statement, the former finance minister was arrested on January 6, 2026.
However, his legal team in the United States are working to ensure that he is released.
Mranwhile, Ken Ofori-Atta is said to have a petition for adjustment of status which authorizes a person to stay in the US legally past the period of validity of their visa.
