We gave them privilege, now we face embarrassment – Kpebu on Ofori-Atta

Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has called on former President Nana Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to step in and help bring former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta back to Ghana for accountability.

Speaking on TV3’s Keypoints, Kpebu said, “Akufo-Addo and the NPP should step in, we gave them the privilege to serve, they had all the privileges and today what we are getting is international embarrassment.”

He explained that the situation is complicated because of Ofori-Atta’s international investments.

“The US thrives on a lot of foreign investments and debts. Japanese and Saudis have billions of investments in the US. Investing in America’s economy comes with protection.

Looking at everything, if we judge by paper, it’s a very complex fight. He has millions of investments in the US, complicating the fight,” Kpebu said.

According to him, the involvement of Akufo-Addo and the NPP is necessary to ensure that accountability is served.

“The former president and the party must get involved in getting Ken Ofori-Atta back to Ghana. The country needs answers, and this is a matter that affects all of us,” Kpebu added.
