Bryan Acheampong has accepted defeat in the NPP presidential primaries and pledged his full support to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, following the declaration of results.
In his first public statement after the outcome, Mr. Acheampong congratulated the winner and confirmed his commitment to party unity.
“I want to thank Mahamudu Bawumia for his victory and wish him every success as he leads our party forward,” he said. “I called him earlier this evening to let him know he has my full support.”
He said he accepted the outcome despite personal disappointment. “Whilst tonight’s outcome is not what I had hoped for, I accept the results with humility, and my resolve remains strong,” he stated.
Mr. Acheampong also attributed his journey to faith and perseverance. “Most importantly, I thank God for His grace, guidance, and protection throughout the journey. I am deeply grateful for how far He has brought us,” he added.
He urged party members to focus on the future. “Now more than ever, the party must stand united as one family,” he said.
Finally, he reaffirmed his loyalty to the party. “I remain fully committed to the ideas and ideals of our party and to the service of Ghana,” he said.
