Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment has called on families and community leaders to take active responsibility this Valentine’s Day.
In a statement released ahead of February 14, the Ministry appealed to parents, guardians, educators and community leaders to guide young people towards positive decisions.
The release noted that young people are increasingly exposed to social pressures that influence their behaviour.
According to the Minister, the role of families and schools is critical in shaping the values and choices of the youth.
He pointed out that discipline, support and consistent guidance are necessary to help young people grow into responsible adults.
“These challenges require urgent collective action to protect the wellbeing of young people and to secure the nation’s future,” the Minister said.
He added that building a strong and disciplined generation should be a shared responsibility.
“Let us use this day to affirm our dedication to living responsibly, supporting one another, and building a generation that is ready to lead Ghana into greatness,” he stated.
