We are going to support victims of the Russian man – Gov’t

The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has outlined the support services available to victims after reports of a foreign national allegedly engaging in sexual activities with Ghanaian women and sharing the footage without consent.

“Support services, including psychosocial care and legal assistance, are being coordinated through confidential channels to ensure privacy and well-being,” the Ministry stated.

It also highlighted the availability of toll-free helplines for reporting abuse: 0800-800-800, 0800-900-900, and 0800-111-222.

The Ministry explained that these measures are part of broader ongoing interventions to combat digital sexual abuse.

“Before these reports, we had been working with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Innovations and relevant agencies on mechanisms for reporting and taking down abusive content. These protocols are now being applied in this case,” MoGCSP said.

Authorities are also coordinating with the Ghana Police Service, other security institutions, and international partners to pursue accountability, even if the alleged perpetrator is not within the country.

“The Ministry remains committed to protecting the rights, safety, and dignity of all persons and ensuring that jurisdictional limits do not prevent appropriate action,” the statement added.
