Contact us before you travel – Ministry of Foreign Affairs tell Ghanaians after Burkina Faso attack

In response to the recent jihadist attack in Titao, Burkina Faso, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana has issued new travel guidelines for citizens planning trips to high-risk areas in the sub-region.

The government emphasized that Ghanaians intending essential travel to these areas should first consult the Ministry or accredited Embassies for guidance.

“We urge all travelers to ensure their movements are informed by official advice to mitigate risks,” the Ministry stated.

Meanwhile, President John Mahama underscored the importance of regional cooperation in security.

“This attack reminds us that collective efforts are needed to safeguard citizens across borders,” he said.

The Ministry also confirmed that all Ghanaian victims of the Titao attack are being medically evacuated by the Ghana Airforce, with Embassy staff maintaining direct communication with those affected.
