The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong has claimed many Ghanaians are unhappy with how the NDC government is handling cocoa pricing.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, he said the government must acknowledge the frustration among cocoa farmers and respond appropriately.
“Ghanaians are upset about how the NDC is handling cocoa pricing. The government should recognize the anger of the people,” he said.
Kodua advised government spokespersons to be mindful of their tone when addressing the issue.
“Government spokespersons should adopt a more serious and respectful tone,” he stated.
He also rejected claims that the NPP is engaging in propaganda on the matter.
“The NPP is not using propaganda regarding this issue, so the government shouldn’t give that impression to Ghanaians,” he said.
According to him, communication from government officials should focus on calming farmers rather than creating tension.
“They should communicate in a way that calms the farmers,” he added.
Kodua assured that the NPP will continue to speak on cocoa-related issues and advocate for farmers.
“The NPP will continue to address cocoa matters,” he said.
