Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ahanta West have petitioned former President John Dramani Mahama to remove Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Engineer Ebenezer Aidoo.
In the petition, the party executives said, “The MCE has abused his authority by locking the Assembly Hall to block a duly convened meeting and disregarded the Assembly’s dignity.”
They further alleged, “Despite public promises to fight illegal mining, he colludes with miners, uses security personnel to extort bribes, and only targets those who refuse to pay.”
The petition also claimed, “He undermines the local MP, bypasses agreed engagements, and awards public contracts without consultation, while recklessly accusing traditional leaders of illegal activities without evidence.”
The NDC executives concluded, “These actions demonstrate misconduct and incompetence. We urge the former President to use his constitutional power under Article 243(3) to revoke Aidoo’s appointment.”
