SONA 2026: Our reset agenda is working – Mahama

In his 2026 SONA, President John Dramani Mahama said the “Resetting Ghana” agenda is working, framing it as a national commitment to restore public confidence in governance and strengthen institutions.

“The resetting Ghana agenda is our national commitment to restore economic stability, rebuild public trust in our democracy, strengthen our institutions and deliver tangible improvements in the lives of ordinary Ghanaians,” he said.

Mahama emphasized the importance of honesty and transparency in confronting the nation’s challenges.

“It is about turning the page on years of mismanagement and confronting our challenges with honesty and charting a new voice anchored in fiscal discipline, transparency and sustainable development,” he said.

He described his administration’s efforts to create accountability and strengthen government systems, highlighting reforms aimed at improving governance while ensuring that citizens feel the impact of policies in their daily lives.

“Our focus is on tangible outcomes that reflect the trust Ghanaians place in their government,” Mahama added, appealing for unity and collective effort in nation-building.
