Bayern Munich youngster Lennart Karl has shared an emotional message after being ruled out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup because of a serious injury.
His impressive performances earned him a place in Germany’s senior national team, and he was included in Julian Nagelsmann’s 26-man World Cup squad.
However, his World Cup dream came to an end after he suffered an injury during Germany’s final training session before a friendly match against co-hosts the United States.
The German Football Association confirmed that he would miss the tournament. Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann also expressed his disappointment.
“I feel incredibly sorry for Lenny. It’s a huge shock for him and all of us that he’s missing the World Cup. It’s only a small consolation that he’s young and has many tournaments ahead of him. We would have loved to have him on the team.”
