Former aide to the New Patriotic Party’s 2024 presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Rosemond Obeng says her decision to publicly leave the party was driven by what she described as a desire to “rescue the soul of the country,” not personal benefit.
Speaking in a video shared by 1957News, the Presidential staffer rejected claims that her political move was motivated by self-interest.
What I did was to rescue the soul of the country. And it’s sad that some people think I did it for personal interest. It was to rescue the soul of this country, and I say this with so much passion.”
Obeng said she has no intention of leaving the National Democratic Congress, adding that her decision was based on conviction.
I am NDC now and I will continue to stay with the umbrella until I die.
She maintained that her actions reflected what she believed was in the country’s interest rather than any expectation of personal gain.
