A trotro driver was made to reload sacks of rubbish into his vehicle after residents allegedly caught him dumping waste on the Nsawam, Suhum road in the Eastern Region.
The vehicle involved bore the registration number GC-5796-21.
In a video shared on X, the residents confronted the driver and instructed him to collect every sack of rubbish he had placed by the roadside and transport it to an approved disposal site.
“We caught this man dumping sacks of rubbish on the Nsawam-Suhum road. We are in a good mood today, so we will not touch him. We have asked him to collect the sacks of rubbish he came to dump here and take them to the appropriate site,” one of the residents said.
The group also issued a warning to anyone considering similar actions.
“This is to serve as a caution to anyone who would attempt to dump rubbish by the roadside in this area. If we catch you, we will deal with you,” another resident said.
The driver was seen collecting the sacks and loading them back into his vehicle before leaving the area.
