GFA to give Carlos Queiroz two-year contract – Report

Carlos Queiroz is set to continue as head coach of the Ghana national team after the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation agreed to keep the experienced Portuguese coach beyond his initial four-month contract.

According to a source close to GFA, after talks between the two sides following Ghana’s campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the GFA and the Sports Ministry agreed that Queiroz is the right person to lead the Black Stars into a new chapter.

The experienced coach is expected to sign a two-year contract. His main task will be to help Ghana win the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars have not won the continental trophy since 1982, and ending the long wait has become the team’s main goal.

Queiroz was appointed on a short-term deal before the FIFA World Cup. He helped Ghana reach the knockout stage before the Black Stars were knocked out in the Round of 32.
