If you don’t understand the law, you bring something outrageous – Lawyer on Miracles Aboagye’s bail

Samuel Atta Akyea, lead counsel for Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has criticised the Ghc50 million bail condition imposed on his client, describing it as excessive.

Speaking on Adom FM, the former Attorney General questioned the basis for setting what he considered a difficult condition to meet.

“If you don’t understand the law, then you bring something outrageous to accuse the person and then give the person a huge bail. To me, that is bad,” he said.

Mr Atta Akyea also disclosed that EOCO indicated that further discussions could be held with Aboagye on other issues, although he was uncertain whether they would relate to the same investigation.

“They said they will let us come back again and discuss any other issue. So whether that is the same issue or a different one, we don’t know because I did not even understand them,” he stated.

He added that he was present during the interrogation of his client and maintained that the discussion focused on procurement-related issues and contracts involving priority projects.
