A&C Mall Cost Me 3 Properties Abroad– Dr. Kwabena Asamoah

Founder of A&C Mall, Dr. Andrew Kwabena Asamoah, has revealed the enormous personal sacrifices he made to establish one of Ghana’s leading shopping centres, disclosing that he sold three properties abroad after failing to secure adequate financing from local banks.

Speaking in an interview with Kafui Dey, Dr. Asamoah said the early stages of the A&C Mall project took nearly a decade to complete because of persistent funding challenges.

“The A&C Mall you see today took ten years to build in its early stages,” he said.

According to him, the inability to obtain sufficient bank financing forced him to rely on his personal assets to keep the project alive.

“I sold a house in London, one in Geneva and another in America so that I could get the finances to start A&C,” he disclosed.

Dr. Asamoah said the decision reflected his confidence in the project despite the financial risks involved, adding that perseverance and personal commitment were critical to turning the vision into reality.

He noted that the experience demonstrates the financing difficulties many Ghanaian entrepreneurs face when attempting to undertake large-scale investments.
