NPP’s Defence Is Just Emotions – Tuffour Slams

National Democratic Congress (NDC) communicator Dr. Isaac Tuffour has criticised the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) response to recent legal issues involving some of its members, describing the party’s communication strategy as one driven by emotion rather than law.

Speaking on Angel FM, Kumasi, Dr. Tuffour argued that instead of advancing strong legal arguments, the NPP has resorted to emotional appeals aimed at winning public sympathy.

“At this point, the NPP has been reduced to emotional blackmail as their only strategy,” he said.

He questioned the party’s reliance on emotional rhetoric despite repeatedly highlighting the number of lawyers and legal experts within its ranks.

“Those who tout themselves as having lots of lawyers and brains have ended up using emotional blackmail,” he stated.

Dr. Tuffour also criticised recurring comments from some NPP figures suggesting that political fortunes could one day reverse, arguing that such statements do not address the legal issues before the courts.

“They keep on saying the tables will turn,” he noted.

According to him, public discourse surrounding ongoing legal matters should focus on facts and the rule of law rather than emotional narratives or political messaging.
