Anti-Galamsey and LGBTQI+ Pastors have vanished under Mahama – Osei Kyei Bonsu

Chief of Staff at the Office of the former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has questioned Ghanaian pastors who used the campaign for the anti-LGBTQI+ bill to be signed into law against the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government.

He says if they were truthful and genuine about their stance in 2024, why have they gone silent in 2026 after the previous government left office?

To him, these pastors were not genuinely fighting for Ghana like they claimed but rather to satisfy their own parochial interests.

He also spoke about their involvement in the advocacy against illegal mining and their sudden silence on the menace destroying Ghana’s environment, even though conditions have not changed since the NPP left office.

“Where are all the pastors who were coming to Parliament to insist that the LGBTQI law be signed? Where are those Pastors? Has the LGBT law been signed? If they were doing the work of the Lord where are they today? I hear one saying that it is now not a priority. If it is not a priority today, was it a priority in 2024? How truthful are we?

Some pastors and civil society organizations came to Parliament and said they were going to demonstrate over galamsey, and even then, candidate Mahama came to speak on the matter. Today where have we go to with galamsey?
