Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren says Ghana is preparing for a much tougher challenge when they face Cameroon in their second Group D match at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Black Queens take on the Indomitable Lionesses on Sunday at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca, with a place in the quarterfinals at stake.
Ghana made an impressive start to the tournament with a 2-0 victory over Cape Verde, but Bjorkegren believes Cameroon will provide a far sterner test because of their quality and experience.
The Swedish coach expects the Indomitable Lionesses to rely on their experienced squad and rich tournament pedigree.
“I expect Cameroon to be one level up than Cape Verde,” Bjorkegren told the media on Saturday.
“We are going to play against a good Cameroon team with experienced players,” he added.
Kick-off is scheduled for 17:00 GMT, with a victory securing Ghana’s place in the quarterfinals of the competition.
