Why I gave Edudzi Tamakloe Legal Director role, although he opposed my chairmanship—Asiedu Nketia explains

National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Asiedu Nketia, says he never picks a bone with people who contest him.

According to him, he believes in collaboration rather than apprehension in politics.

He cited examples of people who campaigned against him, but he later appointed them as part of his executives to prove that he believes politics should be about the exchange of ideas.

To him, he always looks at why people don’t support him and their potential so he can tap into it.

“Edudzi Tamakloe was one of the people who were against my chairmanship bid; however, when I became chairman, I appointed him as director of legal for the party. For me, I believe in people’s potential rather than being loggerheads because of politics. He did not believe that I wanted to work with him, but I told him I trust his law, so I gave him the role,” he stated in an interview on Radio Gold.

He added “do you know what Alhaji Sinare did to me in the campaign? After the elections, I formed the National Zongo working committee to help mobilise the Zongos for our elections. I asked someone to approach him, and after I called him, he worked to perfection. So that is the way I do my things. I told you that Ofosu Ampofo was my friend and one election will not spoil our friendship. After the elections I had to heal his wounds and we became good friends again”.

The Chairman denied having problems with Haruna Iddrisu and Mohammed Muntaka, indicating that the problems are artificially created by the media.
