GFA still in talks with other coaches for Black Stars job – Nana Oduro Sarfo

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member Nana Oduro Sarfo has confirmed that the Association is still in talks with other coaches over the Black Stars head coach position.

The future of Carlos Queiroz remains uncertain despite the Portuguese coach guiding Ghana to the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.

The 73-year-old was appointed in April on a short-term contract after Otto Addo left the role.

Queiroz was expected to continue as Black Stars head coach on a long-term deal. However, his demands have made it difficult for the GFA to extend his stay.

“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is still in talks with other coaches for the Black Stars job,” Oduro Sarfo told Kumasi-based Ezra Radio.

The Black Stars are expected to return to competitive action in September when they begin their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification campaign.
