The TnA Stadium in Tarkwa will host the opening event of the 2026/27 domestic football season when Medeama SC face Nations FC in the 2026 Champion of Champions on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
The match will bring together Ghana’s two reigning domestic champions in an exciting early-season clash.
Medeama SC, winners of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League, will take on Nations FC, who won the MTN FA Cup last season.
Both teams will be hoping to start the new campaign with another trophy.
The Champion of Champions is traditionally played between the winners of the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup. The match serves as a curtain-raiser for the new domestic season and gives both teams a chance to test their squads before competitive league action begins.
The fixture will also give the two clubs an early chance to assess their players, improve their tactics and build momentum for the new season.
The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League is scheduled to begin over the weekend of September 4-7, 2026.
Medeama have the league title. Nations FC have the FA Cup. On August 30, only one team can leave Tarkwa as the Champion of Champions.
