The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has started the process of finding a new head coach for the Black Stars, according to reports.
The move comes after Carlos Queiroz reportedly showed no interest in extending his stay with the team following Ghana’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The experienced Portuguese coach was appointed in April on a short-term contract. He replaced Otto Addo ahead of the World Cup in North America.
According to Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams, Queiroz was earning $80,000 per month during his time as Black Stars coach.
However, talks over extending his contract broke down after Queiroz reportedly demanded a monthly salary of $150,000, source close to the GFA revealed.
The 73-year-old is also believed to have requested additional foreign coaches to join his technical team as part of his plans to continue working with the Black Stars.
With the negotiations failing to reach an agreement, the GFA has now begun looking for a new coach to lead the national team.
