Noelie Yehouessi has urged people to ask the right questions in relationships and pay attention to the answers they receive, saying this could prevent years of uncertainty.
The Ghanaian lawyer and public speaker said people often remain in prolonged talking stages or relationships because they hear what their partners say but choose to interpret it differently.
“One thing I strongly believe is when you ask the right questions, you will get the right answers,” she said.
Yehouessi argued that clarity at the beginning of a relationship is important, particularly on issues such as marriage and having children.
She said a person should not remain with someone whose plans do not align with theirs simply because they hope the person will eventually change.
She cited her own approach to such situations, explaining that she would not continue a relationship with someone who had already made it clear that marriage was not part of his plans.
“If I met someone and he said, ‘I don’t want to get married, I just want to have a child,’ that doesn’t align with what I want.
“So I’m not going to be in a relationship with that person hoping and praying he suddenly changes his mind,” she stated.
