Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has confirmed that highlife musician Barosky has been brought back to Ghana after becoming stranded and homeless in Manchester, United Kingdom.
Ablakwa said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs fully funded Barosky’s repatriation, which was completed last night.
He also said the ministry will support the musician as he settles back into life in Ghana.
“We are also providing psychosocial support and a reintegration financial assistance,” Ablakwa said on social media.
Barosky’s situation came to public attention in August 2026 after media personality Nana Romeo shared a video showing the musician sleeping on the streets of Manchester.
In the video, Barosky spoke about his difficult circumstances, including struggling to find food and a place to wash. He also said he had lost contact with his family in Ghana.
The video triggered public concern and calls for urgent intervention.
The Ghana High Commission in the UK subsequently became involved, while members of the Ghanaian community also rallied support for him.
Ablakwa has now confirmed that Barosky is safely back in Ghana and has been reunited with his family.
The minister thanked Ghanaians who helped draw attention to the musician’s situation, particularly Nana Romeo.
“We are most grateful to our fellow citizens, particularly Nana Romeo, for bringing Barosky’s heart-wrenching plight in Manchester to our attention,” he said.
He also commended Ghana’s High Commission in the UK for coordinating the intervention.
“I commend our High Commission in the UK for their impressive coordination,” Ablakwa added.
He ended the announcement with the ministry’s commitment to assisting Ghanaians in distress abroad.
“We strive to leave no Ghanaian behind. For God and Country,” he said
