Baffoe’s Mother Thanks Ghanaians, SDA Church After Bail

The mother of Salomey Awiti Baffoe says her family can finally breathe again after the 40-year-old senior nursing officer was granted bail following three weeks in police custody.

Speaking to Lawson TV, Esther Owusu Ansah thanked Ghanaians and the Seventh-day Adventist Church for supporting the family throughout Salomey’s detention.

She said the situation had disrupted the family’s daily life, with Salomey’s children repeatedly asking where their mother was. The family, she said, had to make up stories to calm them.

She also said the family struggled to sleep during the three weeks, with the stress affecting her health.

“But tonight, I am confident I will get good sleep. My daughter is coming home to her children,” she said.

Salomey was granted bail of GHC100,000 with two sureties by the Adenta Circuit Court after spending three weeks in custody.

She had been remanded over allegations of abetting the publication of false news linked to the anonymous TikTok account known as “Ghana Jollof.”

Salomey’s mother also acknowledged the SDA Church’s support, saying the church’s prayers and support gave the family strength during the difficult period.

She thanked everyone who stood by the family until her daughter was released on bail.
