Ghana have suffered another setback in their difficult 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, dropping five places to 70th in the latest FIFA World Ranking.
The Black Stars have dropped from 65th after losing 25.73 ranking points. Their poor start to the AFCON qualifiers played a big part in the fall.
Ghana are now ranked 14th among African countries in the latest rankings released on Wednesday, October 7.
The latest rankings were based on 338 men’s international matches played since the end of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on July 19. Results from competitions such as the UEFA and Concacaf Nations Leagues and the 2027 AFCON qualifiers were included.
Ghana’s ranking was badly affected by their first two results in the AFCON qualifiers.
