Kasoa Uber driver ganged-raped by 3 women hits jackpot; gets GHC105,600 settlement

A Kasoa-based Uber driver who was allegedly raped by three women at East Legon Hills has reportedly received GHC105,600 in compensation from the women involved.

The driver had earlier told Kasapa FM that he would only consider dropping the matter if he was adequately compensated for the trauma, reportedly mentioning GHC100,000 as the amount he wanted.

According to the host of the programme that first featured the driver, the women later paid GHC105,600, more than he requested.

The host reportedly presented evidence of the payment during a live Facebook broadcast.

The driver had alleged that the three women booked him for a trip from Kasoa Budumburam to East Legon Hills. He claimed that after arriving, they invited him into their apartment under the pretext of showing him the location so he could return the following morning.

He alleged that once inside, the women locked the door, took his car keys and sexually assaulted him.

The reported compensation has since generated further discussion on social media about sexual assault involving male victims and how such cases are handled.
