Assafuah asks who kept the alleged $7,000 balance from visa applicants

Old Tafo MP Vincent Ekow Assafuah has questioned what happened to the alleged $7,000 difference between the $10,000 some people were reportedly charged for World Cup visa arrangements and the $3,000 fee the National Sports Authority (NSA) agreed to pay Tribe Culture First per United States-bound applicant.

Assafuah said an agreement between the NSA and Tribe Culture First set a processing fee of $3,000 per traveller to the United States and $2,000 for Canada.

He alleged that some people were charged $10,000 each, raising questions about how the money was distributed.

“If you take $10,000 from Mr Alex Mensah and come and give $3,000 to Tribe, what happens to the $7,000?” he asked during an interview on TV on October 13, 2026.

Assafuah referred to Alex Mensah’s alleged account that his two sons were not connected to the NSA but had been included on a list of people linked to the World Cup arrangements. The MP also cited an invoice he said showed the NSA’s $3,000 payment to Tribe Culture First for applicants.

The MP argued that the investigation should not focus only on the company’s receipt of money, but should also establish whether other people collected payments and what happened to the remaining amounts.

The claims about the $10,000 payments and the alleged recipients have not been independently verified. Tribe Culture First has denied illegally receiving $611,000 from private individuals in connection with the arrangements.
