Ghanaian singer, four-time Grammy nominee, songwriter, and record producer Rocky Dawuni revealed that he taught rapper Sarkodie during his national service, expressed admiration for the rapper’s growth, and wished he could attend Sarkodie’s Rapperholic concert.
Speaking on Asempa FM, Dawuni said he knew Sarkodie before they became established musicians. He recalled teaching during his national service when he met the rapper, who would later rise to prominence in Ghana’s music industry.
“When I was doing national service, I taught him,” Dawuni said, explaining that he became a musician before Sarkodie also ventured into music.
Dawuni said his admiration for Sarkodie grew as the rapper began gaining popularity. He noted that he became more interested in Sarkodie’s work as his music career developed.
The celebrated musician also expressed regret that he couldn’t attend the rapper’s Rapperholic concert, which he said he wished he could experience in person.
“I’m not surprised he’s putting on such an incredible show,” Dawuni said, commending Sarkodie’s performance and acknowledging the rapper’s ability to deliver an impressive concert.
