Fear Holding Ghanaian Artistes Back From Stadium Shows — Watumoto

Entertainment pundit Watumoto has urged Ghanaian artistes to overcome their fears and take on the challenge of headlining major stadium concerts, following Sarkodie’s successful Rapperholic concert in Kumasi.

Watumoto said filling a stadium is achievable, arguing that fear is the biggest obstacle keeping some of Ghana’s music stars from attempting similar shows.

“Sarkodie did well with his concert in Kumasi. Some people have not even done any before. Fear is preventing other artistes from doing the same. It is fear which is killing them,” he said on Kumasi-based Angel FM.

According to Watumoto, artistes should not be overly concerned about the pressure of organising a stadium show because such events can attract support from other musicians.

He explained that a headline artiste would not necessarily have to carry the entire programme alone, as other artistes could participate and support the concert.

“This thing is easy, because it is not only the main artiste organising the programme that will come, but other artistes will come and support,” he said.

Watumoto therefore called on Ghanaians to support local artistes willing to organise large-scale concerts, saying fan and industry encouragement could give more musicians the confidence to take on such projects.
