Godfred Dame dismisses misconduct allegations in ambulance procurement case

Former Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame has dismissed allegations of ethical misconduct in the prosecution of the ambulance procurement case involving Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson.

His successor, Attorney General Dr Dominic Ayine, made the accusations during a press briefing on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, claiming Dame acted unethically in handling the case.

The matter, which involves the acquisition of 200 ambulances during the John Mahama administration, has been a focal point of legal and political discussions, with concerns over alleged financial mismanagement.

However, addressing journalists on Friday, February 14, Dame rejected the claims, insisting they were baseless.

“Dr. Ayine’s unfounded allegations insinuating unethical conduct on my part in the ambulance case is highly disingenuous and rather unfortunately, recaps the series of falsehoods peddled by foot soldiers of the NDC and other uninformed members of society,” he said.

He also pointed out what he viewed as contradictions in Dr Ayine’s statements.

“I must say that I find it quite ironical for Dr. Ayine who is a subject of disciplinary proceedings for professional misconduct still pending at the General Legal Council to accuse me of unethical conduct.”
