A woman who says she entered marriage at the age of 17 has recounted years of financial hardship in a 27-year marriage, claiming that her husband has never given her “chop money” since they got married.
Speaking to Host Auntie Naa on Oyerepa Radio, the woman said she has largely depended on her mother for financial support while raising their six children.
“My husband has never given me chop money since the day we got married. It is my mother who has been helping me,” she said.
She explained that she has repeatedly complained about the situation but has been advised by her family to endure the difficulties because she is already married.
“When I complain, my family tells me we are wedded, so I should endure,” she recounted.
