About three hundred (300) police personnel have been deployed for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Northern Regional delegates’ conference in Tamale.
The Northern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Wisdom Lavoe, led the police team at the conference at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
In a press briefing, he warned that his officers would not entertain any group that might seek to disrupt the peaceful proceedings of the conference.
“We will deal with any person or group who think they can cause problems here during the conference. We will arrest and prosecute you if you are found guilty,” he warned.
He urged delegates to conduct themselves well and advised that after voting, they should leave the grounds.
About 410 delegates are expected to vote at the NPP’s Northern Regional delegates’ conference, which features 33 aspirants contesting various positions.
