Rising prices remain a major concern for Ghanaians, despite continued public support for President John Dramani Mahama.
According to a nationwide survey by the Institute of Economic Affairs, 91% of respondents said they are concerned about the price of food and consumer goods.
Of that number, 71% described themselves as “very concerned,” while 20% said they were “somewhat concerned.” Only 9% indicated they were not concerned.
The IEA noted that “challenges related to basic necessities remain unresolved and require urgent attention.”
The survey, conducted in December 2025 with over 1,000 respondents, sought to measure public opinion on economic conditions and governance one year after the 2024 general election.
While many respondents expressed approval of the President’s performance, the data shows that concerns about the cost of living remain widespread and continue to influence public outlook.
