Movie legend Chuck Norris dies at 86

Movie legend Chuck Norris is dead. His sad passing has been confirmed by his family, who say the actor and martial artist died at the age of 86.

In a statement shared on Instagram on Friday, March 20, they said he passed the previous morning while surrounded by loved ones.

“He was at peace,” the message noted, adding that the family prefers to keep further details private.

They described him not only as a public figure but as someone deeply rooted in family. “To the world, he was a martial artist and actor… to us, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather,” the statement read.

Norris became widely known through martial arts films in the 1980s, including A Force of One and An Eye for an Eye, before moving into television with Walker, Texas Ranger, which debuted in 1993.

His work helped establish him as a familiar face in action roles for years.

Earlier this month, he marked his 86th birthday with a social media post showing himself training, just days before reports indicated he had been hospitalised in Hawaii.

Born Carlos Ray Norris in Oklahoma in 1940, he later spoke about his early life in his memoir, describing a childhood shaped by family challenges and frequent moves.

His family said his life was guided by faith and discipline, adding, “He inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives.”
