Legal Education Reform will not flood system – Ansah-Asare insists

Kwaku Ansah-Asare, a former Director of the Ghana School of Law, has rejected claims that Ghana risks producing too many lawyers under the new Legal Education Bill.

He responded to concerns raised by veteran lawyer Samuel Okudzeto, who warned that more graduates could strain the system.

“Government will definitely expand the system to make room for them,” Ansah-Asare said in an interview on Adom FM monitored by MyNewsGh.

He added that the argument about excess lawyers does not hold, pointing out that several sectors still lack legal professionals.

According to him, Ghana has produced fewer than 10,000 lawyers since the era of John Mensah Sarbah, which shows the country is far from saturated.
