Now I feel okay and I’m ready to play – Thomas Partey speaks on Canada visa refusal

Black Stars deputy captain Thomas Partey says he is ready to return to action against England after missing Ghana’s opening World Cup match against Panama.

Partey was unavailable for Ghana’s 1-0 win over Panama but has now rejoined the squad ahead of Tuesday’s important Group L match against the Three Lions.

Speaking to reporters, he said he was disappointed to miss the first game but accepted that some things are beyond a player’s control.

“Well, I think it’s part of football. Things happen in football that you cannot control. So, for me, now I feel okay and I’m ready to play.”

When asked about playing against Rice, Partey praised the quality of the England team and said he is looking forward to the match.

“Yeah, I know it’s not going to be easy. Very good players, and I’m happy to really play against them.”
