Businessman and philanthropist Ibrahim Mahama has promised a special bonus for the Black Stars if they beat Croatia and qualify for the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Mahama made the promise when he visited the team’s training camp in Rhode Island on Thursday. He was part of a government delegation led by Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, H.E. Victor Smith.
Speaking to the players, he said his reward would be better than what government funds could offer.
“I have a much better bonus for you than the taxpayers because they have to go to Parliament. I don’t have to go to Parliament. Please do us proud,” Mahama said to applause from the squad.
