Former Wa Municipal Chief Executive Alhaji Abdul Aziz Gado has thrown his support behind NPP National Chairman hopeful Paul Afoko, saying he remains a committed member of the party despite his earlier exit from office.
In a video, he said Afoko’s return to frontline politics should be seen as an opportunity for renewed service to the party.
“Under the circumstances, he didn’t complete his term. You people went and endorsed him massively in town. But for some reason, he couldn’t complete that term,” he said.
According to him, Afoko has remained engaged with the party and is not distancing himself from its activities.
“He has not shied away from the party. He is not angry. He has decided that there is still an opportunity for him to serve the party,” he said.
Alhaji Gado said Afoko’s renewed bid for leadership should be supported by delegates.
“So he has come back to you to seek your support,” he stated.
