NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has appealed for immediate assistance for people affected by the June 29 floods, saying many victims are in urgent need of basic supplies.
“People need food, people don’t have clothes, people don’t have mattresses.
“Let us make sure that we come immediately to their aid,” he said after visiting one of the affected areas.
Dr. Bawumia encouraged individuals and organisations to contribute to relief efforts, saying everyone could play a role in supporting affected communities.
“Everybody should do something. Myself, I will try and help in the small way I can with some of these relief items,” he said.
He added that communities affected by the floods require immediate assistance while efforts continue to address the broader flooding challenge.
