The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that it will replace Ghanaian passports that were lost or damaged during the recent floods across parts of the country.
In a statement issued on July 3, 2026, the Ministry said it is aware of the impact of the floods, including loss of lives and property damage, and extended condolences to affected families.
The Ministry said the exercise is part of efforts to support victims who may have lost important travel documents.
“We recognise that due to the floods many Ghanaians may have either lost their passports or had them damaged,” the Ministry said.
It added: “We have decided to implement an expedited replacement of lost and damaged Ghanaian passports as a result of the floods.”
Affected persons have been asked to contact a dedicated number between July 3 and July 17, 2026, and provide their personal details for verification.
“We intend to replace all lost and damaged passports within a week,” the statement said.
