Activist and lawyer Oliver Barker-Vormawor has criticised Ghana’s justice system following the extradition of Frederick Kumi, popularly known as Abu Trica, to the United States.
Reacting to the development in a social media post, Barker-Vormawor wrote: “We have made mockery of this Justice system.”
He added: “We removed a Chief Justice in vain; if we intended things to stay the same. Shalom.”
Abu Trica was extradited from Ghana on Thursday, July 9, after an order by the Accra High Court.
According to Asaase Radio, he departed from Kotoka International Airport aboard Delta Air Lines Flight DL157 bound for the United States.
His extradition followed a July 2 ruling by the Accra High Court, which upheld an earlier district court decision and cleared the remaining legal processes for his transfer.
The development came after his legal team recently raised concerns about his whereabouts and access to him.
