Black Stars goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi has backed Carlos Queiroz to continue as Ghana’s head coach, saying the Portuguese coach has brought a positive change to the national team.
Carlos Queiroz was appointed in April on a short-term contract after Otto Addo was sacked in March. He took charge of the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
However, Queiroz later explained in a viral interview that he had not resigned and was still in charge.
Ati Zigi, who played two matches under Queiroz at the World Cup in North America, said he does not know the details of the coach’s contract but believes keeping him would be good for the national team.
“I don’t know about his contract situation, but I feel he is a great coach, and I love how he brought about the positivity in camp, but if the leadership wants him to stay, it will be a good decision,” he told Sporty FM.
