National Communication Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kofi Tonto, has alleged that the detention of Dennis Miracle Aboagye is politically motivated, insisting that neither Mr. Aboagye nor other NPP communicators will be intimidated into silence.
Speaking on Asempa FM, Mr. Tonto claimed Mr. Aboagye was targeted because of his criticism of the Mahama administration.
“Dennis Miracle Aboagye is being persecuted because he is a strong critic of the failing Mahama government,” he alleged. According to him, Mr. Aboagye remains resilient despite what he described as unfair treatment.
“I know he is resilient and will definitely overcome his alleged maltreatment. None of these actions will silence him or NPP communicators,” he said.
Mr. Tonto further alleged that the government was increasingly using state institutions to suppress opposing political voices.
“President Mahama and his government are gradually using state institutions to silence dissenting voices,” he claimed.
