Deputy Attorney-General Justice Srem-Sai has outlined what he says is the prosecution’s evidence in the ongoing trial of former National Signals Bureau Director-General Kwabena Adu-Boahene and two others.
According to Srem-Sai, the prosecution presented bank statements, purchase receipts and ownership documents which it says trace how the Ghc49.1 million was spent within six months.
He also alleged that the principal accused initially denied ownership of some companies, bank accounts and luxury properties before later admitting they belonged to him.
Srem-Sai further stated that the prosecution’s evidence challenges the accused’s explanation of how the money was used.
“The equipment which the principal accused person claimed he was going to use or used the money to buy was never bought,” he said.
He also alleged that the prosecution presented evidence of forged purchase receipts and disputed the accused’s public claim that the funds were used to finance political campaigns in 2024.
“The principal accused person deliberately misled the public when he said that he used the Ghc49.1 million to fund political campaigns in 2024,” Srem-Sai alleged.
