Ask for your VAT invoice and earn rewards – Ato Forson announces

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has announced a new VAT Reward Scheme that will reward customers who request and obtain valid VAT invoices when making purchases.

Presenting the 2026 Mid-Year Fiscal Policy Review in Parliament, Dr. Forson said the initiative is aimed at encouraging more consumers to demand VAT invoices, helping to improve tax compliance across the country.

“To encourage participation and improve compliance, the government will also introduce the VAT Reward Scheme under which customers who obtain valid VAT invoices will qualify for periodic rewards,” he announced.

According to the Finance Minister, the scheme is expected to motivate more Ghanaians to participate in strengthening the country’s tax system by requesting VAT invoices during commercial transactions.
