Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member Nana Oduro Sarfo has revealed that many members of the association’s Executive Council did not want Otto Addo to continue as head coach of the Black Stars.
Otto Addo returned for his second spell as Ghana coach in March 2024 after signing a three-year contract with an option to extend it for another two years.
Speaking on Asempa FM, Oduro Sarfo said Otto Addo did not have enough support from members of the GFA Executive Council, although he personally believed the coach needed more time to show what he could do.
“Most people on the Executive Council did not like Otto Addo. Maybe it was only me who liked him or wanted him to stay because he was on the ascendancy and needed time, but then there was no time because we were heading to the World Cup and we needed to see improvement,” he said.
